Ohio LinuxFest 2015, held October 2 and 3 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, came and went, providing fun for Linux lovers of all experience levels, from all walks of life.

Fans of the free and open source software gathered together at Ohio LinuxFest to share open source knowledge, learn from each other, attend a variety of workshops and network within the community. Workshops included topics ranging from “Pinochle, Dungeons & Dragons, and Software Usability” to “How Git Changed My Life (as a Software Engineer) and How It Can Change Yours.”

The reputable keynote speakers were a draw for Ohio LinuxFest in 2015. Keynote speakers, Alan Robertson, Valerie Aurora and (veteran keynote speaker) Jorge Castro headlined the main event – lending attendees their insight, knowledge and enthusiasm for free and open source software.

In addition to the keynotes and workshops, the Ohio LinuxFest held Birds of a Feather sessions, Early Penguins talks, a Friday happy hour, an after party Saturday night, and a more exclusive dinner with the previously mentioned keynote speakers. The dinner cost an additional $75, but was worth the cost for the meal and the quality of conversation.

While no one on the DineEngine staff spoke or presented at Ohio LinuxFest this year, DineEngine had a presence at the Fest at the DineEngine company booth, which was manned by members of the development, design and marketing teams.

In addition to having representatives at the Ohio LinuxFest, DineEngine was thrilled to have been asked to handle the design and execution of the logo, branding and program for the event.
